Infared CamerasThese camera bodies have been modified by removing the standard IR blocking filter that comes with the camera and installing a B&W or Color IR filter that sees light in the 720 nanometers and above, which is above visible light that human eyes can see. The B&W camera is equivalent to using a Kodak wratten 87. Exposure and white balance are easily corrected. This conversion changes how the camera sees certain objects. Subjects that produce heat like trees, plants, grass and animals give a very different appearance showing a bright white tone while the sky for example is almost black. This can give a very different look and can lead to some very special photographs. A Great way to try out new artistic ideas.
